This is the new ‘in’ place on the 55th floor of the Centara Grand at CentralWorld in Bangkok, Thailand. There’s an bistro style restaurant there too, but we didn’t go for dinner, just for drinks. On our way, we experienced Bangkok’s infamous traffic jam, even at 10pm. We were literally around the corner and could have walked there in less than five minutes, but were stuck for over 20!

Once there, we were seated outside at the bar, which has a spectacular view of the city. There seems to be more of these rooftop restaurant/bars springing up – after Banyan Tree and Sirocco.

Unexpectedly, it was rather cool and so we didn’t stay very long. The outdoor area was pretty plain – just a large open area filled with tables and a bar at one end. It was also rather dark so that one can enjoy the view, but it was rather hard to read the drinks list. Definitely not as interesting as the other two venues mentioned.

Might try the restaurant next time.
