Forecast was for heavy rain and thunderstorms…got up and the sky looked OK. No rain, just cloudy. Got to Discovery Bay and it started raining…and never stopped. Got heavier by the hole, but played pretty well – 9 over par after 11 holes. Our playing partners decided to quit as they didn’t want to get sick during the swine flu outbreak. Imagine being quarantined for a whole week! No golf for 7 days!!! So we decided to stop after the 12th hole – Jade 3. Hit it to about 10 feet under the hole and a firm putt for birdie. Nice way to end the round and into the clubhouse for a nice warm shower. Would have liked to continue since we were playing so well…but the thought of no golf for 7 days made us stand by the decision to stop.
