It was one of those days where nothing worked and we were wishing that we’d get this round over and done with ASAP. This was a real fluke on hole 26 (8th hole) of the Lychee Course at Harbour Plaza Golf Club. A tee shot landed on a down-slope just on the edge of a fairway bunker. Taking more club (a 5 iron), aimed left to compensate for the slope and focused on hitting it cleanly. Whiff…duffed it. A low runner. Here we go again. But wait…it kept chugging along and rolled up onto the green! Not the exact plan, but the result was OK. First green in regulation after six holes! Maybe we’ll get a par. Amazingly the 18 footer downhill putt miraculously found its way to the bottom of the cup. A birdie is a birdie.

Hi,
I’m a fan of your blog – thanks for always updating it with good info.
I’m pretty new to golf, and I live in SoCal –
Do you know any blogs that are based here? For some reason they’re kinda hard to find for me.
thanks for any help!

Hi PJ,
Welcome to the game. Thanks for the nice comments. I do follow some golf blogs (as listed in my Blogroll) but none are specific to the SoCal area. Will update if I come across any.
Happy golfing.
